Scrap Buster 101 January and February "Dancing Nine Patches"
Bonnie Hunter’s Dancing Nine Patches pattern is FREE at www.quiltville.com under the Free Patterns tab. Everyone will have to print their own copy of pattern for the class. (Author’s requirement to use it in a class.) www.quiltville.com Free Patterns tab - scroll down to Dancing Nine Patches. Select it. There is an option for a Printer Friendly version…..select that and print.
If using 2” strips follow pattern.
***If using 2 ½” strips, bring an assortment of 2 ½” x 8” colored pieces. This is a great way to clean out some odds and ends in your stash.
Cut your neutral sashings at 2” x 6 ½” and 2” x 8” per each block.
**** No matter which size strip you choose, pre-cut enough to get several blocks sewn.
Other items to bring: pattern sewing machine and accessories rotary cutter with good blade small cutting mat small iron with pad if you have one seam ripper friendly disposition lunch or a snack
Don’t be afraid to bring some of those fabrics that you never use for anything else. Uglies actually work really well in this pattern. If you’re not sure about your fabrics, bring some variety and we’ll talk about getting them to work. Think scraps, project leftovers, fat eighths, fat quarters or just about anything that you’d like to use up.
