Mystery Quilt Class July ($60.00 for 2 days; Fri-Sat 26-27)

The key to the success of this quilt is contrast.

You will want to choose four fabrics that contrast with each other since you don’t know where each fabric will be placed.  OQB staff can assist you with this.

Fabric Requirements

Fabric #1 – Light background 2 yards

Fabric #2 – Medium – ½ yard

Fabric #3 – Medium dark – ½ yard

Fabric #4 – Dark – 1 yard

Border – Optional 1-3/4 yards

Binding – ½ to ¾ yard

Extra Info:  This quilt allows for a large print to be cut to replace the “light background” in the center of the quilt.  To do so, you will cut six (6) 8-1/2” squares from that fabric.  You will need 5/8 of a yard to cut six (6) 8-1/2” squares.  To do so if using the same fabric as your border, add 5/8 yard to the border fabric (2-3/8) yards.  Allow extra yardage if your fabric is directional.

Other supplies for class

6-1/2” x 12-1/2” Ruler

Mini ironing pad & iron (optional-each sewing station has electrical outlets)

Cutting Mat (small size or larger)

Rotary Cutter w/new blade

Sewing Machine that you know how to operate with 1/4” foot
