HALO QUILT
This quilt can be scrappy or color controlled. The shop model has places of "controlled color" to create a few full circle blocks. Using acrylic templates for cutting allows you to cut several pieces accurately at one time. ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE THEIR OWN ACRYLIC TEMPLATE SET OR BOOK DUE TO COPYRIGHT LAWS.
SUPPLIES
"HALO" ACRYLIC TEMPLATE OR "JENNY FROM ONE BLOCK" BOOK BY JEN KINGWELL.
(If not using acrylic template set, you will need to purchase the book to make plastic templates).
STILETTO (no not shoes) also known as Quilter's Awl
28 mm Rotary Cutter w/new blade (a must for cutting around curves)
CUTTING MAT-small/medium size (shop has a couple but will be difficult to share if large group in class)
6-1/2" x 12-1/2" RULER or something similar
MINI IRON & IRONING PAD (optional but nice to have next to your sewing) machine)
BASIC SEWING SUPPLIES -(Pins, scissors, rotary cutter, thread, seam ripper, etc.)
SEWING MACHINE - Bring a 1/4" foot that you know how to operate
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
Shop model used 25 plus fat quarters & scraps for pieced blocks
10 fat quarters & scraps for outside low volume border pieces
3/4 yard for binding or scraps
MUST DO PRIOR TO CLASS
Nicely press all of your fabrics
You may start cutting your fabric if you are comfortable cutting curves. This is optional.
