• Pattern of your choice

• Several 6 ½” squares of fabric for practice (I use the old stuff from my stash!)

• Fabric as required by your pattern

• Rotary cutter and ruler

• Fat quarter muslin or Kona White to back light colored fabrics if your background is dark (I prefer the Kona White)

• One yard or one package lightweight fusible webbing (I prefer either Steam-a-Seam Lite 2 or Soft Fuse)

• Pen for marking fusible webbing (I like the ultra-fine retractable sharpie)

• Mechanical pencil (for marking embroidery lines)

• Sharp scissors for fabric and paper (you will be cutting paper, fusible webbing, and fabric)

• Applique sheet (must have)

• Light box (optional, but very helpful) 

• Personal iron and ironing pad* (must have)

Hand Buttonhole:

• Black embroidery floss or preferred embroidery thread

• Needles (choose one you can hold comfortably)

• Needle threader (optional)

• Small scissors for cutting threads

• Thimble

Machine Buttonhole:

• Black thread or thread to match

• Light weight stabilizer (might need)

• Sewing machine and manual

• Basic sewing supplies
