Face Friends (10:30am-3:30pm) ($30)

Face Friends Supply List

Freezer paper – 1 to 1-1/2 yards

1 to 1-1/2 yards of Steam-A-Seam 2 OR a package of Steam-A-Seam 2

Karen K. Buckley scissors – truly the best for cutting fused fabrics to prevent fraying

#2 pencil with an eraser

Permanent marker

Fabric glue (I like Bohin temporary glue stick)

Mini iron & ironing pad – MUST bring your own pressing station & iron as OQB does not      allow fusible on our ironing boards

Applique Pressing Sheet (optional)

Sewing machine (Depending on your design, you may or may not use your sewing machine)

Basic sewing supplies (pins, scissors, rotary cutter, thread, etc.)

 Fabric Requirements

Bring a variety of fabrics since you don’t know what you will ultimately design.

 Suggestions:

-         5 to 6 fat quarters for backgrounds, hair, blouse/shirt, face, maybe a hat

(face fabric does not need to be skin tones – polka dots and other prints are fun to play with)

-         5/8 yard fabric for background OR you may sew together a couple of fabrics depending on the size you want your Face Friend to be

-         Scraps of fabrics for eyes, nose, eyebrows, eye lashes, lips, earrings, etc.

-         Any kind of embellishments you like – beads, buttons, chain

-         A fabric or two of something you like (for me it would be Sugar Skulls or birds).  Maybe something whimsical, giant flowers, baseballs,              fruit, etc.  If undecided, you’re in a quilt shop that has many options to choose from for your collage.

-         ¼ yard fabric for binding (not needed for class but later after Face Friend is quilted)

Please feel free to call the shop or me @ (714) 366-7135 should you have questions.
