Purchase the Santorini Pattern:
Fabric and notions as indicated on pattern for the size you are making and
the number of zipper pockets you are adding. The model is made with Soft
and Stable, and has 3 zipper pockets. If making a contrast bottom, 1/4 yd
additional contrast fabric.
A 24” #5 zipper for Main closure, 1-4 14” #3 zippers for optional pockets.
I like to use an 80/12 or 90/14 microtex, sharp or universal needle. If you’re
using a canvas fabric, use a 90/14.
Additional notions: 1/4” or 1/8” Double Sided Basting Tape, Wonder
clips, Stiletto, Scissors, Pins, Marking pencil; something removable (chalk,
Frixion, etc.), glue pen/stick.
All your favorite sewing notions.
Thread to match fabric for top stitching
Optional: Iron and ironing mat, Ott lite
Prior to Class:
Before coming to class, press your cotton fabrics with steam to preshrink
the fabric. This will help eliminate the crinkling you can sometimes get
when applying interfacing.
Cut out your pieces according to the size tote you are making ahead of
class, this will give you the extra time to work on your bag. Please bring
your leftover fabric just in case you have to recut something.
Feel free to bring a lunch if you’d like.
