Jungle Safari Kids Quilt w/Grace (10:30am-4:30pm) ($60)

In this class you will learn a totally new "collage with templates". It is fun, easy, and the results are always amazing. It produces a no-fray raw edge applique that Grace will demonstrate for you, then you will get to put into practice.
Students will get the full pattern composed of 9 blocks (each 11" x 11"), and will choose the one to work on in class. The rest can be done later. Grace will demonstrate each step as you make the block of your choice.
So come learn and practice this technique with the inventor, developer, and teacher of this amazing new revolutionary applique technique.

Supply List:
Fabrics to bring: You will receive the full pattern of all 9 blocks. Choose the ONE block you want to make. That will suffice for a 6-hour class. You will be able to use the colors I used, or choose your own colors. Ensure you bring lots of fabric scraps in many values, from lightest light to darkest darks. Fabric scraps can be any sizes from small, palm size pieces to quarter yards, fat quarters, or fat eights (9” x 22).
• Note: Each block requires a 12” x 12” piece for each of the background fabrics, however DO NOT bring any background to class. You can choose it later when more blocks are completed and you will be able to see what works well.
• Board – 20?x20? Insulation Board (usually 1 1/4? thick). You can get it at Home Depot, Lowe’s or any building supply store. Optionally a “Cushioned Quilters Square and Blocker” will work very well.
• If using the Insulation Board, bring a piece of “InsulBright” Insulated Lining, the size of your board, for board protection (optional)
• Brush – soft, “1/4” wide
• Pens- “Sharpie” black permanent markers Fine point (not Extra Fine)
• Ballpoint
• Color pencil, best is red, and a regular black pencil
• Teflon Pressing Cloth – Teflon type for applique, any size but the larger the better
• Scissors – fabric and paper
• Freezer Paper – 18” wide
• Vinyl (2 mil) – also known as painter’s drop cloth. Best is the 2 mil painter’s drop cloth. Can be bought at any hardware or building supply store.
